ATP's aviation career program for commercial pilots requires around 200 hours of flight time. Students begin their aviation career training learning about flying a multi-engine craft. This portion of the course takes a little more than one week. The next portion covers the instrument panel and leads into training a crew, making cross-country flights in your aviation career. This covers the first month of training.
The next month is spent learning how to fly commercial planes, including both single and multi-engine craft. Students learn how to read the instrument panels and pre-flight checklist practices. This portion of the aviation career course takes a little more than two weeks. The final week covers flight management systems, emergency situations, performance, instrumentation and another twenty hours of flight time with professionals.
