Aviation Maintenance Certification

Get Your Aviation Maintenance Certification

AeronauticalThe road to aviation maintenance certification is usually far less expensive and reasonably easy. Sure, there are going to be some pretty challenging courses to pass, but nothing extremely taxing. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of getting your aviation maintenance certification is that a lot of memorization can be required, especially given all of the different FAA regulations.

Many technical centers and colleges may require the following of any student interested in completing their aviation maintenance certification: three years of high school English, Algebra, and at least one year of high school science. Incoming students in an aviation maintenance certification program should be able to read, handle basic math, and write. Given these less stringent rulings, the aviation maintenance certification program is usually available to those who completed high school but did not focus on advanced math or extra science courses.

Students enrolled in aviation maintenance certification programs may be required to complete all courses with at least a 71% and then pass the FAA required exams. Once these FAA required exams are successfully completed, students may then able to accept a job as an aviation maintenance expert.

Courses in an aviation maintenance certification program usually last two full years. The courses in this program may include: Aircraft Blueprints, Aircraft Electricals, Aircraft Materials, Airframe Inspection, Assembly, Atmosphere and Ice/Rain Controls, Aviation Mathematics, Basic Electricity, Communication Systems, Composites, Engine and Exhaust Systems, Engine Electricals, Engine Inspections, FAA Regulation, Fire Safety, Flight Line Servicing, Fuel Systems, Instrument Panels, Navigation Systems, Propellers, Reciprocating Engines, Rotary Wings, Sheet Metal, Turbine Engines, and Welding. The majority of the courses in aviation maintenance certification programs cover all aspects of checking an airplane before take-off to ensure the airplane is safe for flight.
